Everyone loves our new Konjac Sponges.

We have been selling and using Konjac sponges, the latest addition to our skin care range for over a month now. The feedback so far has been very positive, with many of our friends and customers commenting on what a great addition to their skin care regime. It has been said by many of our customers how soft they find their Konjac sponges. They have also commented on our charcoal Konjac sponges which they have found to be excellent in clearing small facial blemishes and reducing acne.

Men can use Konjac sponges too!
I gave one of our pure Konjac sponges to a friend the other day. Like most men he suffers from shaving rash as he wet shaves every day. He mentioned to me that he has been using his sponge before he shaves and it seemed to help him get a better, smoother shave, thus reducing irritation and shaving rash.
I also wet shave so I thought I would give washing my face with a Konjac sponge a go before shaving and I must agree that using my Konjac sponge as a pre shave preparation technique has helped me in the daily chore of shaving.
So to all you men out there why not add a Konjac sponge wash to your morning routine, we are sure you will find it beneficial.

What next for Konjac Sponges.

We are developing two new Konjac sponges; the first a Green Tea Konjac sponge that will be available very shortly on our online store and also from our office here in Bangkok.
Green tea has a special antioxidant in it. The antioxidant is used to clear cell damage on the skin. It has also been found that Green tea can very quickly rejuvenate your skin. Even if it is not damaged, skin can always look better, as there is always room for improvement. So using Konjac sponges impregnated with high quality green tea is a perfect facial sponge for sensitive easily irritated, hypersensitive skin.  It helps to turn rough and hardened skin into soft and radiant skin, rejuvenating, plumping and helping to return the skins natural elasticity. It will also be excellent for skin that has had lots of sun exposure.

The second sponge we are developing is a bath size Konjac sponge. Just like our facial Konjac Sponge, the new bath sized Konjac sponge will be suitable for even the most sensitive skin. The bath Konjac sponge will effectively dissolve and remove excess sebum, dirt and dead skin cell from pores.
Our Konjac Bath Sponge will contain a natural weak acid that helps clean your skin so there is no need for additional cleansers or soaps unless you really want them.
The natural moisturizing ingredient found in the Yizhi bath Konjac Sponge will enhances skin texture and retain water levels to keep skin soft & fresh.

So please stay tuned for more information on Konjac sponges but in the mean time if you want to try one of our Konjac sponges out for yourself please check out our web store  at www.amazingthaibeauty.com

The Great Slippery Soap Debate

The great soap debate lingers on: Which is better, liquid soap or bar soap? The verdict is in: When it comes to personal hygiene, both liquid and bar soap are up to the task and get the job done. However, neither the proponents of liquid soap nor the supporters of bar soap have an open-shut case since both soaps have their pros and cons. What's the bottom line? It's up to you, the consumer, to decide which type of soap offers the most benefits in your situation and for your personal skin type. To help you gain some clarity on this 'slippery' issue and to decide what is best for you here are some of the facts.

Skin type
Liquid soap contains a lower ph level than bar soap and is therefore gentler and suitable for people with sensitive skin. Because it is also able to retain more than 30% of the skin’s natural moisture, it is really good for dry skin. Bar soap on the other hand, can dry the skin and cause breakouts. However, this doesn’t mean that all types of bar soap are bad for our skin. Bar soap that contains glycerin is good for people with sensitive skin, eczema and psoriasis as this ingredient has healing properties as well as the ability of attracting water to the skin, leaving it feeling soft and hydrated. In addition, bars soaps formulated with glycerin combined with natural oils moisturize skin without drying it. There are lots of bar soaps that don’t contain fragrance, which can be irritating. Most liquid soaps on the other hand are scented, but you can still find some that are fragrance-free.

Efficiency
The liquid type can be used with a washcloth and it produces lather faster than bar soaps, which instead feel nice and creamy in your hands.

Convenience
Because liquid soaps come in a packaging with a pump dispenser, they are very practical to use in the shower, but it is easy to overestimate the amount of soap you need. Soap bars, on the other hand, turns slimy and slips everywhere but you only use the needed amount.

Health risk
Because bar soap is left exposed to moisture, it is more likely to grow small amounts of bacteria. While the risk of getting a disease from the soap is quite remote, it is better not to share it with a large amount of people. Liquid soap, on the other hand, is pumped from the packaging so it is less likely to grow bacteria. However, if you use it with a washcloth, make sure you dry it properly, as it could harbor bacteria otherwise.

Packaging
Liquid soap usually comes in a bottle with a pump dispenser. Refillers are also available so that you don’t need to buy a whole new package. Instead, bar soaps usually come wrapped in paper or cardboard. The packaging is easier to recycle.

Scum
Unlike liquid soap, bars leave a soap scum in the shower, so that you need to clean the tub more often.

Cost
Cost is another determining factor, as liquid soap is substantially more expensive than bar soap. If money is an issue, consider placing a liquid soap dispenser in public areas - for both decorative and hygienic purposes - and using a bar soap when you bathe or shower.

 Finally
In actuality, there is no right or wrong answer. Which type of soap you use is a personal choice based on your skin type, on your skin's reactions to certain additives (i.e., moisturizers and fragrances), and on your knowledge of the pros and cons of liquid soap versus bar soap.

You can purchase both types of soap at our on line store www.amazingthaibeauty.com . Why not try one of our new range of herbal liquid soaps which include our exclusive Centella Herbal Liquid Soap.

Beauty For Your Dog

Today I am going to tell you about a different product we have in store & tips on how to use it. However I will still be talking about a beauty product but this time for your much loved member of your family, your dog.

When you choose a dog shampoo or conditioner, think about your dog’s skin. Is it extra sensitive?
If your dog scratches frequently, it may well have very sensitive skin. If your pet dog possesses really sensitive skin, you might try our Pitta dog shampoo which formula contains Protein from wheat to nourish your dog’s hair keeping it soft. This protein also prevents drying of dog’s skin & prevents itching.
Our dog shampoo also contains Oil from tea leaves which helps to prevent Irritation from biting by ticks or fleas. It also reduces and prevents unpleasant odors from your dog. Lastly Pitta Dog shampoo contains pine oil which helps dogs relax & it also relieves muscle tension & fatigue. It also prevents fleas on dogs.

Dog shampoos like ours that incorporate much less synthetic ingredients are usually more suitable for your dog as they have natural ingredients.
Avoid buying shampoos that are perfumed in any respect, fragrances also can inflame the dogs skin. The scents can irritate a dog's skin. You know that some sort of extra ingredient has to be placed into the shampoo and some dogs may not be as tolerant as others when it comes to these ingredients. That is why it is a good idea to play it safe and get a lightly scented shampoo. Your dog will also smell pleasant instead of smelling like he or she just left a beauty salon full of chemicals
Frequently bathing your dog is actually part of a beneficial care plan. If your dog has got any rashes or even inflamed skin, you may possibly consider using a medicated canine shampoo.
It is important to ensure that none of the shampoo or conditioner makes contact with the dogs face as well as mouth area when you're bathing him.
Important thing to remember!Lastly & probably the most significant point is to never ever use shampoo or conditioner for human beings on a canine.  It may irritate your dog’s pores and skin much more or cause extreme soreness.

Melasma-The Causes & Ways to Limit its Effect

Something that people suffering from Melasma are often wondering about is what causes this skin condition in the first place. Melasma is something that is almost exclusive to women, especially women who are of a culture with a darker skin. Hormonal changes, such those that happen with pregnancy, could also be a significant factor.

Another possible cause of Melasma is excessive exposure to the sun. When the woman is exposed to the sun for long periods of time, then that can trigger an excess production of melanin. Melanin is what the skin produces in order to protect itself.

Is there a Cure?

There is no one cure for this kind of skin condition. Sometimes the condition will disappear on its own. Of course, it is also important to wear an SPF of 30 or more to avoid dangerous sun exposure.

Can Melasma be prevented?

It really is not possible to prevent Melasma but there are a couple of things which you can try to limit your chances of getting the condition.

One of these preventative measures is to limit sun exposure.  As the Melanocytes are what mainly causes the condition, limiting the amount of time you spend in the sun can really help to keep this condition in check. Always wear sun protection when you do go out and wear a sun hat to keep the sun’s rays out of your face.

However, even if you do cover up in the sun and wear sunscreen, it will still not completely prevent you from developing the condition. You can only really treat the condition once you have it.

Another thing that should be noted is not to use skin lighteners or bleaching creams containing steroids. These can cause permanent skin damage including permanent redness, thinning and blood vessel streaks. Also avoid skin lighteners or bleaching creams containing mercury as this is a poison.

Lastly avoid irritating the facial skin. Do not use strong soaps or abrasive cleaners but only a mild soap or cleanser for washing.

What are recommended Malasma Prevention Creams?

As has already been mentioned in this blog, the most important factoring preventing the development as well as worsening of melasma is appropriate facial sun protection with broad-spectrum sunscreen (UVA and UVB) as well as avoidance of tanning beds. This point cannot be overemphasized.

We at Amazing Thai Beauty have a great new broad spectrum sun protection cream- Skin Mates Maroom Detox UV Protection Cream combines sun protection and major antioxidant properties. Suitable for all skin types, Skin Mates unique formula protects while allowing your body to absorb its daily dosage of vitamin D, which is best provided from sunlight. This silky, light, quick-absorbing moisturizing cream replenishes the skin’s moisture balance and guards against free radicals and environmental abuse.
Skin Mates Maroom Detox UV Protection Cream contains Moringa Extract that acts as an anti pollutant, the formula also contains soothing aloe Vera & hibiscus extract to help firm sun damaged skin. Finally the formula is topped off with large amounts of vitamin E that acts as an antioxidant.

Honey absorbs impurities from the pores on the skin, making it an ideal cleansing agent.

How to Ensure Your Hands & Nails Stay As Beautiful As Our Faces.

So much of the beauty industry focuses on products and tips for the face that often other body parts seem to get lost in the shuffle. So in this article I am going to concentrates on what we can do to ensure that our hands & nails stay as beautiful as our faces.

The nails and hands are two parts of our bodies that are often taken for granted. We use them everyday of our lives, but fail to take care of them as much as we take care of our hair, teeth, or other body parts. The reason for this is because they always serve their purpose and they never fail us until it’s too late to give them their much deserved attention.

By the time we see veins on our hands, or see them with blotches of red and discoloration; or when our nails are specked with white spots, and often break.

Is it too late to care and improve them?

No, it's not. But we need to act on it soon.

There is a secret to taking care of our hands and nails. As with any care regimen, we need to understand these parts of our body that have been very loyal to us through these years. Once we know this, we need to know how to take better care of them, and other factors that have been affecting them without us knowing. We can then decide what products would be benefitail to help our hands & nails stay as beautiful as our faces.

Hand Care

Avoid Excessive Wetness

We all know that water strips off skin’s natural oils leaving it dry and wrinkled. Try to lessen your time in the shower by observing a wet-soap-rinse routine.

Moisturize

Especially if you spend most of your time in very cold or air-conditioned areas, the hands can become really dry. Try to pack a small bottle of lotion or cream in your back so that reapplication will be handy.

Hand Massage

While you can avail of the masseuse’s service, you can do quick daily hand massage by yourself while taking a break at work or watching TV. Massaging the hands paves the way for better blood circulation which eliminates appearance of veins and wrinkles. You can use massage oils or a vitamin enriched cream for both relaxing and nourishing hand treatment.

Nail Care

Wash your hands with mild soap and clean your nails with a soft nail brush. Leave your hands in warm water for a few minutes to soften cuticles and move to the base of your nails. An excellent time to do your manicure is after a shower, bath or the dishes. These activities will remove dirt from under the nails as well as soften dry nails.

Cut your nails all at the same level and file the rough edges or points that remain after. It is not a good idea to remove the cuticles from your nail, as it will make the nail susceptible to infection.
If you have dry nails, apply some moisturizing hand & nail cream on them.

What products do you recommend for hand & nail care?

Avocados have a great variety of nutrients such as Vitamins C, B6 and E, which have been proved to: reduce wrinkles, moisten, clean, exfoliate and enrich the skin.

In fact, research shows that hand & nail creams with avocados have more Vitamins E than any others. Vitamin E is a highly-powerful antioxidant known for slowing down the ageing process and reducing the damaging effects of sun exposure as well as helping in the prevention of heart diseases.
Try our Skin Mates Avocado Hand & Nail Cream which is packed with deep-penetrating natural ingredients & an ultra-moisturizing blend of Avocado butter.

You could also try our Natural Care Hand & Nail Cream that helps to improve damaged and dry hands. Our cream has natural repairing properties and it helps in providing elasticity to the dry skin. Natural Care Hand and Nail Cream aids in strengthening the nails and also helps in softening the cuticles. Natural Care Hand & Nail Cream also helps in protecting and nourishing the skin by giving a healthy and beautiful look to your hands. Natural Care Hand & Nail Cream contains raspberry oil as an astringent, beet root oil to help nourish the skin, red algae that acts as an antioxidant & jojoba oil to sooth the skin.

So now you know how to care for your hands & nails and what products are best for them, you too can have hands soft and smooth that sure will leave not just a pleasant first impression but a long-lasting image of beauty and finesse.

Caring for your Skin with the Power of the Ocean – Red Algae

Sea algae extracts and other substances derived from the sea, e.g. Dead Sea mud & seaweeds are believed by cosmetic companies to be vital elements which act in harmony with the human body, helping to achieve health, beauty and relaxation.

One of these ocean derived substances is red algae which can be found in the seas around the pacific region where it commonly forms a part of coral gardens. Red alga contains the most powerful anti-oxidants found in nature, with clinical tests indicating that it is 550 times more powerful than vitamin E. These powerful anti-oxidants properties help to protect skin from free radicals, sun and pollutants - the main causes of wrinkles and fine lines.

Red marine algae facial treatments can be used to treat several skin-related conditions and is effective because it also boasts anti-bacterial properties. Thus, it can be a powerful and natural way to treat skin conditions.

Treatment of Acne with Red Algae

Red marine alga has multipurpose ingredients that are beneficial in treating acne. It dries up the blemishes while adding minerals and moisture into the skin. The bacterial properties of red marine algae heal acne blemishes. Often, skin dried out from acne medications and treatments produces more oil to compensate, which can result in more breakouts. As red marine alga prevents the skin from drying out, recurrent breakouts are less common.

Also red alga is best for removing impurities and toxins and can help regulate oil levels in your face. Natural red alga is very popular in spa treatments for skin with fat or acne, as it has the ability to work carefully to promote circulation and healthy skin rejuvenation.

Anti Aging Properties of Red Algae

Red Algae are used in anti aging products for its intensive levels of nourishing and hydrating marine minerals and vitamins. It helps the skin become more resistant, thus maintaining firmness and shape.

Because Red alga has developed unique protection mechanisms in order to survive. These qualities can be applied into anti aging treatments when extracts of the algae are incorporated into advanced facial skin care products.

Researchers discovered a long time ago that both skin and algae cell membrane have isolation analogies in their function. As a result, the algae can be used to protect, nourish and heal human skin. The quality and beneficial properties of these active ingredients have been proven in efficacy tests.

Why Is Removing Makeup so Important For Healthy Skin?

It’s a universal fact that women want to present their best self before the world. Makeup is thus an important part of a women’s life which is almost like an important component of daily routine. However; most women don’t understand the importance of properly removing their makeup. Removing makeup can help to make sure that your skin stay healthy. If you do not follow a makeup removal process, then you will find that your complexion can really start to have blemishes and other problems. This can lead to acne and a lot of other issues. This is why you should learn makeup removal tips that will help you to keep your skin clean and free of blemish.
When removing makeup it is important that you choose a cleanser that is going thoroughly clean your skin. This means cleaning makeup out of pores as well as the surface of the skin. There are many different cleansers available so it is up to you to do a little research to find the right one. Always check the cleanser ingredients to be sure it will accomplish what you expect. This will ensure that you get the best clean possible for your skin.
When removing your makeup you want to make sure that you choose a remover that is free of oil. This will be more effective at getting off makeup like eye liner and mascara. These can be one of the toughest things to remove, especially if you are using a waterproof variety. If it is not waterproof, you may just need a little warm water to get it off, but you in most cases oil free makeup remover can do a better job.
It is always a good idea to be gentle when it comes to taking off your makeup at the end of the day. If you do it carelessly, you may end up snagging your eyelashes and making a mess of it. The best way to do it with care is by using cotton balls or swabs. If you use harsh materials such as paper towels or hand towels, then you will find that it will be too abrasive and will irritate your skin.

Follow the instructions given below for removing makeup in the best and the easiest way.

Items Needed

 •Cotton Swabs/balls

•Towel

Procedure

First thing you will have to do for removing makeup is to secure you hair tightly, so that they don’t fall on your face. For this, you can either use a rubber band, if your hair is long, or a hair band, if your hair is short.

Now let us come to wiping off your makeup. Concentrate on the eyes first. Take a cotton swab and dab it with eye makeup remover. Gently wipe each eye with the cotton, till the makeup dissolves completely.

Now is the turn of your face. Take another cotton swab and dab it with cleansing milk. Wipe you face with it, avoiding the eye area, till the time the makeup comes off.

Wash you face with lukewarm water. Take the makeup remover or cleanser and put a dollop on your palm.

Rub your hands together, to generate lather. Now, apply this lather all over the face, again avoiding the eye area. Keep rubbing it gently all over your face for around one minute.

Rinse off the lather with water. Splash your face with water a number of times, to make sure that no traces of makeup and lather are left.

Gently pat your face dry with a soft towel. Do not rub.

Lastly apply moisturizer on your face and massage it gently, at least for a minute.

Removing Eye Makeup

For removing eye makeup, make sure to use a makeup remover that is especially made for the eyes. This is because eyes are very sensitive. The cleanser/remover that you use for removing face make up might be too harsh on them. You can also use petroleum jelly or baby oil for removing eye makeup.

Removing Lip Makeup
For removing lipstick or lip liner, use cold cream. Take a cotton swab and put a little cold cream on it. Now, softly rub the cotton over your lips. After wiping off the lipstick, make sure to apply moisturizer over your lips. This will help in keeping them soft and conditioned.

Not Just a Pretty Flower- The Butterfly Pea.

Thailand is a tropical country rich with its local fruits and herbs. For years, Thai people have used herbs as part of the ingredients in not only Thai foods but in Thai herbal beauty treatments. One of these botanicals is the Clitorea Ternatea or Butterly Pea vine.

The butterfly Pea or dok anchan in Thai (ดอกอัญชัน) is a climbing plant originating from Southeast Asia. Nowadays, it is cultivated in all tropical areas, including Thailand.

The flowers of butterfly pea (Clitorea Ternatea) are rich in blue Anthocyanin and widely used in herbal beauty products here in Thailand. Apart from the color, it is also a natural antioxidant.
One of the products that modern day Thai beauty product manufacturers create with the Butterfly Pea flower extracts are shampoos & conditioners. They work by promoting blood circulation in the scalp, nourishing and strengthening hair follicles. The flowers as already mentioned also act as a natural antioxidant. Butterfly pea extract will moisture the scalp and nourish hair to achieve maximum thickness, density & luster.

Our on line store www.amazingthaibeauty, now stocks a Butterfly Pea Shampoo which is a scalp moisturizer that also nourishes hair. The Butterfly Pea extract used in our shampoo is concentrated with anti - oxidant and essential proteins which help protect your hair from external aggressors like sun exposure, heat, cold and dryness. Facial Cleansing Is Really Important!

Many of us only spend about 15 seconds on washing our face.  That may not be long enough to do the job!  Since we are making the effort to bring out our face wash, why not spend a few extra seconds?  The key to good cleansing is to take it slow.  I would recommend that you cleanse for at least one minute, but it does not mean that you have to vigorously rub for at least a minute.

When the dirt and dust particles get accumulated on the face, they block the skin pores and thus make the skin look dull and dry. This also causes several skin problems like blemishes, acne, blackheads, etc. But more than that it increases the aging process of the skin and makes the aging signs like wrinkles and fine line appear on face. Thus you can expect to have a sick skin if you will not do the cleansing of face. There are many facial cleaners out there in the market & we hope to help in this article to explain the benefits of each. Whatever product you do decide to use remember to clean your face about three times in a day.

So what should you use to clean your Face?

Ordinary soap is often dismissed as useless and harmful by many people. This is absolutely untrue. The purpose of any cleansing operation (a term favored by some skin care people for a process most of us know as washing) is to remove dirt and grease. Ordinary soaps do this effectively (and sometimes even too thoroughly!). Soaps contain fats which work effectively as cleansers of grease and grime. Soaps will also remove some cosmetics and the water proof eye make-up products are not easily removed with soaps – for these, a cosmetic cleanser is usually required.

One unfortunate effect of soaps is that they remove some natural oils from the skin, making it dry. A related action is that, being alkaline; soaps neutralize the natural acidic film on the skin. Though these effects are temporary, they can cause problem in people with dry skin, during cold weather and in conditions of low humidity.

The dryness, however, is easily countered by using a moisturizing cream after washing with soap.

There are various skin cleansers available in the market depending upon the skin type. Hence you can purchase the cleanser that is suitable for your skin type. If you have dry skin, then cleansing milk is the best cleanser for you, as it will provide moisturizer to your skin and will not make it dry. It is better to buy oil-based cleanser for dry skin. But oil based cleansers will not be good if your skin type is oily.

Please be aware though make sure that you buy a good quality cleanser as this makes all the difference to your facial care regime.

Facial cleansers or face washes could belong to the following categories.

Foaming cleansers: These generally lather as the name suggests.

Gel cleansers: These are usually oil-free and may not foam or lather.

Water-soluble cleansers: These are good, all-purpose cleansers and are generally non-irritating.

Lotion cleansers: These are recommended for dry or sensitive skin because they leave a light soothing film on the skin.

Cleansing milks: These are modified moisturizer formulations. It does not have the surfactants-the active cleaning ingredients of soaps and face washes-that normal cleansers have which are effective for removing dust and grime.

Toner and astringents: Toners are solutions or lotions designed to remove surface skin cells, soap residue and oils from skin. They are often heavy on water and alcohol and some-times contain other ingredients like witch hazel, salicylic acid or propylene glycol.

How do you wash your face?

This may be an obvious question but often we don’t think about this to thoroughly. There are however great tips from beauticians that can help & these are as follows:-

Start with clean skin - a good facial cleanser cream is the first step, remove with warm water only please, then follow with a splash of cool water to close your pores, whether you need oily skin treatment or need dry skin care you should always use a facial cleanser cream that is suited to your skin.

Water is the mother of moisturizers and once you have cleansed your face, don't rub it dry, just pat gently and let the moisture remain, as you benefit from the skin being moist as you apply your additional skin care.

Always use short, firm strokes and please always stroke upward - do not stretch the skin. Applying creams around the eyes is best done with the little finger and pat, pat, pat.

So let us sum it all up.
